I think it would be safe for me to say I haven’t posted a FOTD for some time, certainly not this year, the local warlord in the hill country has sprayed the whole countryside with so much pesticide that everything is dead and the fields are a continuous patchwork of sheep footprints glueing the mosaic of mud together. God its grim up here, when wet, but there again it is in a lot off places aside from swimming pools, showers and tropical islands.
So this weekend when we took a ride down to Painswick to watch my son play and narrowly loose in a game of Rugby, it was a pleasant surprise to see that Foliage and topiary can coexist in the world famous (now I know) Painswick churchyard, which has dozens of sculpted yew trees, I dare say a few of them are probably over 100 years old, sadly it doesn’t say on the trees. There’s a crafty career move; Tree ager, I’ll see how that goes.

From another angle this double tree bush may have looked like a face, accidentally or not? I’m unsure, but you’ll have to use your imagination.
Cool photo 😀
