Friday Fictioneers: Turkish Delight Mining

Bonjour from Akayaka, haven’t had a chance to write a post for FF for a few weeks, but now am suitably relaxed to attempt something. Thanks to Rochelle for beaming the photo all the way through the internet to Turkey, lets see what gives,

On My Marks…

Get set…

GO!!!

Back in the distant past, they used to swim the tempestuous waters to the Turkish Delight mines, it was the only way; many perished.

The swimmers toiled and dug; the alchemists worked their magic, developing the ruby, sweat and citrine soaked veins into the soft misunderstood confectionary anathematized by many these days.

Then along came Parma Violets and Floral Gums.

The “Delight” dropped out of the Turkish Market, the mines were chewed up by the forests and the alchemists looked for new jobs.

Until a youth; Terry discovered a rare vein of emerald tarnished mineral. Could this reignite the Turkish Delight market?…

There we are, 100 words on the rise and fall of the Turkish Delight Market, true story! Enjoy!!
