Friday Fictioneers: Drain the Swamp

Rochelle , terrible news in the pay rise situation this week, there is none, the government agency has run out of dosh and so we have to work harder, and for less… Seems fair. Anyway, enough of that, lets get down to business, this weeks photograph is by Dale Rogerson, the legend and all around Good Egg from America; there are some… despite this weeks result. But everyone has their opinion I’m sure and this is a sleepy, relaxed part of the internet, so I won’t pour petrol on the fire. So 100 words…Lets see if I can write a topical tale about anything exciting happening right now…

On My Marks…

Get Set…

GO!!!

Tuesday had Bled into Wednesday and in other parts of the world, people were screaming at their TVs.

Chad had been kept barely awake by cocaine and ketamine and had a vague recollection of some sort of playful splashing in the pool.

Election night was always messy, and that Bitch had been urging women to vote, privately; no one would ever know.

His eyes gradually focused and the dirty turquoise of the pool made him squint.

“Looks like I’d better drain the swamp” he drawled to himself chuckling. “Charlotte?”

On the bottom of the pool lay an inert rippled shadowy form.

There we are, the consequences of a disastrous election night imagined from this side of the pond, 100 words hope you like it

  1. First off, please note that I am Canadian, which is in North America so I’ll let it slide 😉

There was something nefarious happening that he was too stoned to pay attention… His buzz is definitely gonna disappear now!

    • I’m sorry if you took offence but I know you’re Canadian so that’s all good. I was listening to a podcast recently saying the Kamala was urging women to vote because they can do it in private and no one will know. Struck me as being a terrible situation , that possibly voters, weren’t going to vote because they thought someone may find out whom they voted for. It’s a terrifying thought.
